AI Fuel — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-13

AI Fuel ("the extension") is a browser extension that helps you monitor LLM quota, usage and rate limits across the AI providers you connect, and recommend which provider to use for a task. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

Summary

Data we handle (locally only)

  1. API keys you enter. Stored on your device only, encrypted with AES-GCM (Web Crypto API) in the browser's local extension storage. They are never sent to us or to any third party. You can delete them at any time from the Settings page.
  2. Quota and rate-limit metadata. The extension reads numeric rate-limit information (for example x-ratelimit-remaining-tokens) from the responses of the providers you configured, and estimates usage from your web sessions on chatgpt.com and claude.ai. Only numeric metadata is read. The content of your prompts, messages or conversations is never read, stored or transmitted.
  3. Usage history and settings. Budget caps, provider configuration and a local 30-day usage history are stored on your device only.

Smart Router and the LAYA model

The Smart Router runs an on-device decision model (LAYA, via the open-source laya-ts runtime and ONNX Runtime Web). Prompt text used for routing is processed in your browser via WebGPU or WebAssembly and is never uploaded. The model weights are data files downloaded from the URL configured in the extension; downloading them is a normal HTTPS request to that host.

Network requests

The extension makes network requests only to:

No request contains your prompts or the contents of your conversations.

Data sharing

We do not share, sell or transfer any data to third parties, because we never receive any data.

Children's privacy

The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.

Changes
